Moto3 COTA, Texas: Flawless Kent rules supreme in Austin
Danny Kent honoured his pre-race promise, pulling away at the front as he imagined would be possible to earn a dominant win in the Moto3 race at an overcast and damp Circuit of the Americas. A poor start from pole had initially seen Miguel Oilveira lead an ever-changing front group, but as soon as the Leopard Racing rider hit the front on his Honda with 14 laps to go after studying the damp parts of the track and planning his charge, he began to gap his rivals. The Briton finished a huge 8.532 seconds ahead of the pack after a supreme performance in Austin to take an early championship lead.
