Honda’s Marc Marquez topped the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the Catalunya MotoGP. With MotoGP using Barcelona's F1 track since this morning – including the tighter Turn 10 hairpin and chicane before the final corner – the session took on more importance than usual. Marquez started the serious laptimes with a 1m45.194s, before aborting an even faster lap to pit. Teams appeared to focus more on race set-up work, rather than outright qualifying simulations. In the closing moments of the session, Cal Crutchlow jumped to second on 1m45.604s to make it a Honda 1-2 on his LCR-run machine.
