MotoGP to use Barcelona F1 layout

– MotoGP – and its support classes – will adopt the layout used by Formula 1 for the remainder of the Catalan Grand Prix weekend, following the fatal accident suffered by Moto2 rider Luis Salom on Friday.Salom sustained fatal injuries when he fell at the fast right-hander of Turn 12 during Moto2's second practice session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.Since 2007, Formula 1 has used a chicane to bypass the fast penultimate corner, which in turn reduces entry speed into the final turn.MotoGP will now adopt this configuration for the remainder of the weekend, with Saturday's third practice session extended from 45 to 60 minutes as a result.It also means MotoGP will use the...
