Iannone loses Ducati ride, Dovizioso extends contract

Ducati have decided to part ways with Andrea Iannone to make room for the arrival of Jorge Lorenzo ahead of the 2017 season. Following the confirmation that the reigning MotoGP champion would be joining the Bologna-based team, it was a straight shootout between Iannone or Andrea Dovizioso for the remaining seat at the team, with Dovizioso Iannone admitted his disappointment with Ducati's decision, and expressed his desire to finish the season strongly.
