MotoGP points leader Jorge Lorenzo says Valentino Rossi was only able to be fastest in qualifying at Mugello with the tow of future teammate Maverick Vinales. While Lorenzo only took fifth on the grid, his teammate Rossi went on to top the session with a lap just 0.016s slower than Andrea Iannone's lap record last year. The 37-year-old recorded his benchmark time riding in Vinales' slipstream, and Lorenzo reckons that was the only way he could have taken pole - and that getting a tow was always his plan.
