Yamaha confirm Vinales has joined

Movistar Yamaha have officially confirmed that Maverick Vinales will team up with Valentino Rossi for the 2017 and 2018 MotoGP seasons after signing a two-year contract. Last week it was reported by media that Vinales was leaving Suzuki to join Yamaha but the official announcement was only made on Thursday by Yamaha ahead of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. The 21-year-old Spanish rider reportedly turned down a big money contract to stay at Suzuki and develop the GSX-RR and instead chose to join Yamaha.
