Lowes is Yamaha's sole competitor at Sepang

The PATA Crescent Yamaha team will only have Alex Lowes racing for them at the World Superbike Championship race in Malaysia this weekend. This is due to Sylvain Guintoli being forced out of racing at Sepang through medical advice after injuring his ankle a fortnight ago at Imola during qualifying. The reason why a replacement rider could not be found was due to the short time span between the events and the Yamaha team being unable to find a suitable candidate at such short notice. Lowes heads to Malaysia in a positive frame of mind having picked up a sixth place, in Imola's second race last time out.
