First Le Mans pole for Lorenzo

Jorge Lorenzo became the first rider to break into the 1:31s at the Le Mans circuit as he secured his maiden pole position at the French track. In front of a packed Le Mans circuit, the Yamaha rider hit the front on his opening flying lap with a 1:32.437, which put him 0.032s up on Andrea Iannone. Marc Marquez was down in 11th place after running wide off the track but improved to P5 on his second flying lap. His teammate Dani Pedrosa was P6 when he crashed at Turn 4 having lost the front of his Repsol Honda. As the Honda pairing struggled, Lorenzo upped his pace to a 1:32.236 to put 0.233s between himself and Iannone. Valentino Rossi was provisionally on the front row, half a second...
