Bizarre situation strikes down Michelin tyre fitters in Jerez

The final free practice session ahead of the Spanish MotoGP round at Jerez was delayed by 15 minutes due to sickness among Michelin’s tyre fitters. In a bizarre situation, five out of 10 of Michelin’s tyre fitters were declared too sick to work. This delayed the session by 15 minutes, as the time to equip the 21 bikes with tyres on their rims was doubled. It is unclear if this will have any more knock-on effect during Saturday's schedule, as qualifying quickly follows this final 30-minute session.
