Rossi rebounds in final practice

Valentino Rossi bounced back from a fairly disappointing on Friday to be the fastest rider in the final free practice in Jerez on Saturday. The Italian finally claimed top spot after a third place in FP1 and a fifth pace in FP2 on Friday. The Movistar Yamaha rider was able to take off nearly half a second of his best Friday time, posting a sizzling 1m39.244s to hold off Marc Marquez by a touch over four hundredths of a second right at the death of a thrilling session. The final sector with turns 10, 11 and 12 proved to be the difference in the end, as many of the Honda riders, including Marquez, struggled through there.
