Lorenzo quickest in FP1 at Jerez

Jorge Lorenzo was in fine form at his home circuit of Jerez as he set the pace on Friday morning, edging out Hector Barbera by a quarter of a second. It was a sunny but cool start to the day as Lorenzo, sporting an aerodynamic addition to his helmet for his home race, hit the front at the Jerez circuit. His reign was short-lived as Avintia Racing's Barbera went quickest before Valentino Rossi came through. The Italian posted a 1:40.677 to edge Barbera by 0.129s. Marc Marquez slotted his Honda up into third place, relegating Lorenzo to fourth. Marquez trailed new winglets on his RC213V as he ran back-to-back aerodynamic tests.
