Marquez plays down Yamaha link

Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez has denied reports that he and Movistar Yamaha have been in contact. Yamaha are searching for a replacement for Jorge Lorenzo after the reigning MotoGP champion confirmed that he would be joining Ducati for the 2017 and 2018 season. While Marquez has played down a possible move to Yamaha, the Spaniard admitted that Ducati had approached him in an attempt to acquire his services. “I had a call from Ducati,” Marquez told reporters. “Yamaha has done in the past, but not this time.
