Laverty: I hit the deck and lost chance to go quicker
A fast fall in the closing stages of MotoGP FP2 at Circuit of the Americas left Eugene Laverty 17th on the Friday timesheets. But most frustratingly for the Aspar Ducati rider, who claimed a career best fourth place last Sunday in Argentina, it also destroyed one of his favoured front tyres. “The new front tyre is pretty good. That was the one I crashed on, but it feels more like a Bridgestone, more stable. I was maybe a bit too comfortable on it at Turn 2!” Laverty said. “I hit the deck and lost my chance to go quicker.
