Michelin withdraws rear tyres on safety grounds

– MotoGP tyre supplier Michelin has confirmed that both rear compounds will be withdrawn from use at the Argentinian Grand Prix over safety concerns.Pramac rider Scott Redding appeared to suffer a failure during the fourth free practice session on Saturday though was able to come to a safe halt with the tyre still inflated.As a precaution, the Medium and Hard rear tyres will now be replaced by a new mandatory set of Medium tyres, designed with a stiffer construction.In order for riders to adapt to the new tyre, an extra 30 minute practice session will be held before the usual Warm Up, prior to the Grand Prix.Michelin has replaced Bridgestone this season as the sole tyre supplier in...
