Argentina big challenge for Michelin

Fresh from a record-breaking debut as MotoGP's new exclusive tyre supplier in Qatar, Michelin faces an even greater challenge in Argentina this weekend. Unlike at Losail, where new records were set for the race distance and fastest lap, Michelin has no winter test data to rely on. “Argentina is a big challenge for us because it wasn't on the calendar when we were last in MotoGP [in 2008] and we have only had a one-day test there,” said Nicolas Goubert, director of Michelin's Two-Wheel Motorsport Group, referring to a 2015 test by Michele Pirro. “Since then our project has evolved quite a lot, so it is a real challenge to decide which tyre to build.
