Taoufik Gattouchi has died

Tunisian racer Taoufik Gattouchi has died after a multi-bike crash during the Losail Cup race supporting this weekend’s opening round of the MotoGP championship at the Qatari track. The 49-year-old was one of a number of riders in the supersport race who fell at turn three on lap 10 of the 15-lap race, and succumbed to his injuries despite being provided with trackside medical care. He was immediately transported by air ambulance to the Hamad Hospital in Doha where resuscitation continued. Unfortunately, Mr Gattouchi succumbed to his injuries Motorcycle News joins the wider motorcycling community in expressing our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr Gattouchi.
