Riders could get “sliced” by MotoGP winglets, Crutchlow warns

LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow has spoken out about the recent MotoGP design trend for winglets on the front fairings of bikes, questioning their safety. Speaking after the first practice session of the season in Qatar – where the works Yamaha, Honda and Ducati bikes all ran variants of winglets – Crutchlow voiced his concerns. “Half of me wants to say nothing, because maybe we need them – if they work!” quipped Crutchlow. “But imagine if that sliced someone's leg clean open? “They also say they'll break before [hurting someone].
