Pacesetter Lorenzo sets benchmark on day one

Movistar Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo exuded confidence after topping the times on day one of the Qatar MotoGP night test at the Losail International Circuit. Lorenzo was 0.4 seconds clear of Suzuki's Maverick Vinales after a lap in 1m 55.452s on his M1 and feels the new combination of Michelin tyres and control ECU will play into his hands in 2016, saying the changes suit those riders with a smoother riding style. “I think if tomorrow will be the race, the race will be completely different than last year or the last four or five years: we will have a lot of surprises and also the riders should be careful with everything because everything has changed so much,” said Lorenzo. “The...
