Lorenzo: It was a frustrating day

Jorge Lorenzo was left cursing the intermittent conditions that greeted riders at a blustery Phillip Island on Wednesday as he was unable to complete more than 24 laps around the seaside track. Fastest by some margin at the first test of 2016 in Sepang, Lorenzo was inside the top three in wet conditions during the first part of day one in Australia. As the sun came out and several riders improved, the reigning world champion was pushed down the order to end the day 16th as a “strange feeling” with Michelin's slick tyres prevented him from bettering his 1m 39.8s time. “It was a frustrating day for everyone," said Lorenzo.
