Marquez was biding his time

Marc Marquez was not planning to give Jorge Lorenzo an easy road to the Valencia win but a late attack from Dani Pedrosa put paid to his plans. Heading into the season finale many wondered whether the out-going Champion would play a role in the title decider. And although a victory, which would have relegated Lorenzo to second, would not have changed the Championship order given that Valentino Rossi was down in fourth, Marquez never made his move. He spent the first half of the race chasing down Lorenzo who made a flying start and the second half shadowing his compatriot. Marquez closed right up on the Yamaha's rear wheel with five laps to go and had planned to launch a late attack. But...
