Márquez on top in opening Valencia session
– Outgoing World Champion Marc Márquez set the quickest time during the first free practice session for the Valencian Grand Prix at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.Márquez posted a lap of 1:31.250 to finish almost two-tenths of a second clear of Yamaha title contender Jorge Lorenzo.Lorenzo split the Honda riders, with Dani Pedrosa a further tenth of a second back in third spot, having briefly led the way as the trio exchanged a sequence of rapid laps.Andrea Dovizioso placed fourth, having used a tow from Valentino Rossi to move ahead of his compatriot.Rossi, who must start the race from the back of the grid, collected fifth as Pol Espargaró finished sixth for Tech 3 Yamaha.Andrea...
