Rossi's status affected penalty - Lorenzo
Jorge Lorenzo believes officials did not hand Valentino Rossi a harsh penalty because of the status the Italian has in the sport. Following Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix, replays show that Rossi deliberately slowed down and then lifted his left leg off the bike and made contact with Marc Marquez's bike, causing the 22-year-old to crash. As a result, Rossi recived three penalty points and will start from the back of the grid at the Valencia Grand Prix. However, Lorenzo, who is now seven points behind riders' championship leader Rossi, beleives the penalty from Race Direction should have been more harsh.
