Márquez tops first day at Phillip Island
– Repsol Honda rider Marc Márquez set the standard on a rain-affected opening day of practice for the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.As the track surfaced dried up in FP2, following a rain shower during the first session, Márquez worked his way down to a best time of 1:29.383.That put the double World Champion half a tenth of a second up on Yamaha rival Jorge Lorenzo, who had topped FP1 before the rain struck.Suzuki rider Maverick Viñales beat Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso to third, while LCR's Cal Crutchlow and Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa were the last in the 1m29s bracket.Danilo Petrucci, who starred in the wet at Silverstone earlier this season, placed his Pramac Ducati...
