De Angelis suffers back and chest injuries

Alex de Angelis remains in hospital in Japan having suffered back and chest injuries in his FP4 crash at Motegi on Saturday. The E-Motion IodaRacing rider crashed heavily in the weekend's final practice session and was knocked unconscious in the crash. He was airlifted to the Dokkyo Hospital in Mibu where CT scans revealed a lung contusion and several fractures. A spinal CT also confirmed that the 31-year-old has fractures to the T7-T8-T9 vertebrae, a body fracture to L4 and trasversal process fractures to T2,4 and 8.
