Loris Baz signs for Avintia Ducati

MotoGP rookie and Open class leader Loris Baz has secured his grand prix future with a move to Avintia Ducati for 2016. The Frenchman will ride alongside Hector Barbera, whom Baz overtook for leadership of the Open standings with a stunning fourth place in the wet-dry Misano race, where rumours of the Avintia deal first emerged. Despite his impressive rookie season, Baz had been left in limbo by the uncertainty at Forward Racing. The team missed Indianapolis following the arrest of team principal Giovanni Cuzari over taxation issues in Switzerland and is yet to confirm its 2016 plans.
