Lorenzo and Marquez start on top at Indianapolis

Jorge Lorenzo narrowly pipped Marc Marquez for the fastest time in the first Free Practice session at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Five times a podium finisher around the famous oval track, Lorenzo's late time was good enough to earn the top spot by just 0.093s having led the way for the majority of the session. Marquez, who took some time to get up to speed after apparent problems with his number one machine left him sitting well outside the top ten twenty minutes in, appeared to have grabbed the early initiative. A succession of quick times got him within a tenth of Lorenzo before he went fastest with just over five minutes remaining. Andrea Dovizioso ended FP1 in third position...
