The Spaniard looked on target for victory until the Styrian race was red-flagged, after which the lack of an available new front tyre for the restart plus the absence of any penalty for Pol Espargaro running wide at the last corner left Mir in fourth place. It was a frustrating outcome, but after two early-season DNFs Mir has now climbed to eighth in the world championship, just five points behind Brad Binder in fourth place, heading into the Italian double...
