Jorge Lorenzo hopes the combination of an improved Yamaha M1 and better tyres will allow him to challenge for victory this weekend in the Austin MotoGP. Lorenzo had been in contention for a win at Losail in Qatar with Andrea Dovizioso and his Movistar Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi until an issue with his helmet hampered his vision, causing him to drop off the pace of the leaders as he eventually crossed the line in fourth place.
